The Little Registry POS app lets your store associates manage registries from the sales floor. They can look up a customer’s online registry, build a new one in person, add scanned products to it, and check out registry items at the counter, all without leaving Shopify POS.

Install the POS app

Do this once per POS device, or once per location if your tiles are shared.
  1. Log in to Shopify POS on your device.
  2. Tap Add tile, then Add app.
  3. Select Little Registry from the list of available apps.
  4. Choose the POS UI extension: Manage and checkout items from your registry.
  5. Save. The Little Registry tile now appears on your POS home screen.
Don’t see Little Registry in the list? Confirm the Little Registry app is installed on the store and that the store is on the Growth plan or higher. Close and reopen POS after upgrading so the app list refreshes.

Manage registries

Use this when a customer walks in with a registry they already created online, or when someone comes in to shop from a registry.
  1. Tap the Little Registry tile.
  2. Search for the registry by customer name, event name, or registry code.
  3. Open the registry to see its full item list.
From here your associate can:
  • Check inventory status. See at a glance what’s still in stock at your location before promising an item to a shopper.
  • Modify registry items. Add products, remove products, or change requested quantities while the customer is standing with you.

Create a registry in store

Ideal for walk-in customers who want to start a registry during their visit.
  1. Tap the Little Registry tile, then tap Create registry.
  2. Choose an existing customer. Search the Shopify customer list and select the right profile. If the customer is new, create their customer profile in POS first, then come back to this step.
  3. Update the registry name. For example, “Sarah & Tom’s Baby Shower.”
  4. Add the event date. This drives reminders and the registry’s sort order for gift givers.
  5. Add products to the registry. Search your catalog, or scan items directly (see below).
  6. Adjust product quantity. Set how many of each item the customer wants to receive.
The registry is live on your online store as soon as it’s saved, so the customer can share it before they leave.

Check out registry items

Use this when a gift giver is buying items off a registry at the counter.
  1. Tap the Little Registry tile and find the registry.
  2. Select the items being purchased from the registry’s item list.
  3. Add them to the cart and complete checkout as normal.
Purchased quantities are marked against the registry automatically, so the same gift doesn’t get bought twice.

Scan a barcode to add items to a registry

The fastest way to build a registry while walking the floor with a customer.
  1. In Shopify POS, scan the product barcode to add the item to the cart.
  2. Repeat for every item the customer wants on their registry.
  3. Open the Little Registry tile and choose either Create new registry or Find existing registry.
  4. Add the items from the cart to the registry.
Tip: Clear the cart afterward if the customer isn’t purchasing those items today.
